Georgian Lady Hope Patch Box essex crystal They're vintageDATE: George III, c. 1805 This very special little object is a patch box dating from the late Georgian era, it would have been used to store cosmetic patches worn on the skin to cover blemishes. Crafted in silver, with a beautiful miniature painting on the top (under domed glass) depicting Lady Hope leaning on an anchor by the sea awaiting the return of her lover, with a ship in full sail on the horizon.
